It's kind of funny. Now that everything's over and we have all the time in the world, Percy and I have decided to move up our wedding. I guess because once you get so close to losing something so important, you want to doubly make sure that nothing happens. So what was planned for next spring will now hopefully be occurring by November. Of course, I suppose you have to take into account that it took usa month to reach this decision...

Oh well. It's maybe a bit stressful to think about, but Mama Weasley will be thrilled, of course. How can she not with me joining the family? Tee!

But seriously, Perce and I are headed over to the Burrow next week to start discussing things, such as Ron and Ginny's roles in the wedding (hey you two!). This will be good. I just feel that after everything, Percy's finally ready to give with his family. He's slow sometimes, but I really do think he'll come through.

Anyway, what was I writing? Oh, Hesty, Tonks, now that it's Summer Fortescue's is calling my name. Up for getting together one day soon?

Been quite a week, hasn't it? It's still hard to wrap my mind around the fact that it's really over and that we're all relatively okay. The Healers say I can go home tomorrow, which is good because I'm getting rather tired of being here in the hospital.

But ah, I'd do it again for the same results. I mean...we really did it. Harry did it. And suddenly it seems like...well, we know not everything is just right yet, but it will be. And that's good enough for me.

Annoying little bint, isn't she?

This is such a frustrating situation.

Well, I must say 22 is a brilliant age! Granted, I've only ben at it a little over a week, but as far as weeks go, it's been grand, and so long as this continues on, I think I shall enjoy it very much indeed.

Though, really, who doesn't enjoy birthdays? Maybe I won't once I start getting to be old, but at this point in my life, I must say I still get giddy like a little girl over them. Parcels from Mum and Dad, dinner out at a nice posh place from Percy complete with jewellery and then heading back to the flat for cake and ice cream! What more can you ask for?

I really think birthdays ought to come more than once a year.

My random observation of the day: it's been raining an awful lot lately. I know, that's April and England for you. Just seems to be an especially heavy rain year. I hope it's for natural causes and nothing to do with dark wizards.

I'd just like to get a bit of sunshine again. So dreary.

I was born in the wrong month, I think.

Always something to keep up busy at the Prophet. In between the trial and the Squibbles I'm finding myself with next to no free time yet again.

Squibbles sounds pretty rotten, though. My sympathies to everyone that's come down with it! Our sports writer, Ian Bartlett's come down with a case of it and he's cranky as anything. His brother's at Hogwarts, so he probably got it from an sent Owl when said brother was contagious. I do hope it only stays to a few select cases out here, and doesn't get as widespread as I hear it's been at Hogwarts.

Speaking of which...how are you holding up there, Hesty? Okay?

I know we'll see each other in person, but I just wanted to write a little note for you to wish you a Happy Valentine's Day.

Love you.

You know, I can't help but think it might not be a bad idea to take a leaf from the Hufflepuffs and start a food fight at work. Some of my coworkers have just been so...stuffy and aggravating lately I wouldn't mind hitting them with a bit of pie. Might loosen things up, and we could use that. Really. I know as well as anyone that the news is serious business, but honestly! You can only take it so far.

In other news, I'm bored. Tell me something interesting - even if I don't know you! The point of these journals is to get to meet new people anyway, isn't it?

The nice thing about all the extra work I've had to put in at the Prophet lately, is that they decided to give me a bonus. Well, I certainly can't complain about that. Good to know my employer does have some common sense. Hee hee.

So, to celebrate, I made Percy go take me to see that newish Muggle film about the Titanic that everyone's been raving about. I think he enjoyed it. I know I did. Call me a hopeless romantic at heart, heh.

It's really sort of a somber celebration, isn't it? I think at least for everyone who actually had Dumbledore as their Headmaster and could personally feel the contribution he made to their lives.

Still, one can't deny that this is good news, especially for those of us from Muggle families.

Here's to life going back to normal.

::Penny sent various other Christmas owls to people in the order and stuff like that, but I'm too lazy to come up with any more presents, so just imagine it's something nice. Percy will have received his present personally, of course::

Hestia, lunch was lovely - or at least as much as it could be under the circumstances. I do think we'll have to do it again sometime. You could certainly use another break from everything at Hogwarts.

And I know I've said it before, but your ring? Absolutely stunning. I'm going to be all envious now.

In other news...well, news. For some reason it hadn't occurred to me how depressing a job with the newspaper might be when I decided that I wanted a career in journalism. I know it's not always this bad, but right now, well...

I just hope things look up soon.

Fantastic day.

Percy took the afternoon off and so we headed to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, which was probably a good choice considering how cold and rainy it was today. I hadn't been since I was really young, about six or so, but I remember enjoying it then, too. It's amazing how lifelike they're able to make some of their sculptures - I mistook a couple for actual people before realising they were merely made of wax. Percy'd never been before, but I could tell he was quite impressed with it as well, even if he didn't recognise a lot of the people portrayed, being Muggles and all. It's good he liked it, regardless, because it means we're more likely to go again.

Days like this really need to come more often.

This is utterly insane, you know. Doesn't anyone at least have any ideas how this happened?

Sometimes it really feels like we're fighting a losing battle here.

Received post from Mum today. It seems the presents I sent for the twins' birthday arrived on time, which is good. It's hard to judge sometimes with international post. Last year I know I was late, though it bothered Mum more than it bothered them. What can you do, though, really?

Otherwise, the job's going well enough. I've only had little pieces since my first big one on the dinner at Hogwarts, but my supervisor informed me that I might get to do a bit of interviewing as far as the candidates for Minister go. I do hope that goes through.

Whenever I find some time to write, it seems I have almost nothing to say. Hm.

Well, that really was a good time last night. It's been much too long since I've been at Hogwarts, and it was good to see the castle in tip-top shape after hearing what happened at the leaving feast last year.

Tremlett's doing quite well with his solo career, isn't he? Though I must confess I miss the band together. They had some good songs. Still, I do admit to really liking his new single.

And Blurst really does have some good policies. It was nice getting to hear him speak - I'd not known as much about him as I would have liked, but I really did learn a lot last night. I do wish he'd spoken a bit more on Muggle interests, but you can't have everything. There's only so many hours in an evening after all.

It was nice having an actual story of merit to write up. Which reminds me that I ought to go put my notes into some kind of actual form.

I'm off.

At the Prophet the talk's going more and more to the upcoming elections. This will be the first time I've participated in a wizarding election - I'm not sure exactly when the last one was, but it must've been before I was of age. At any rate, I'm learning how this whole electoral process worked compared to the Muggle one, and it's quite enlightening. I think it's really important this time around that we look at each candidate's platform, though working for the paper is probably making it easier for me, with all the interviews and such. Anyway, we don't want to vote in someone new just to discover they're a nightmare.

Anyway, it's exciting.

I'm really in the mood for ice cream.
