Name: Penelope Anne Clearwater
House: Former Ravenclaw
Year: class of 1994

Appearance: Penelope is on the taller side, about 5'8" or so, and of average weight. She has curly black hair and brown eyes.

Personality: Penelope is highly intelligent and quite responsible, the traits that got her stautus as Prefect. However, she's not completely above bending the rules, as back when she was in school she had no qualms about kissing her boyfriend in empty classrooms. She can be sarcastic and short tempered, and does not tolerate stupidity well (as evidenced by how she reacted when the polyjuiced Harry and Ron took her for a Slytherin). She enjoys watching Quidditch. She's also highly anti-Voldemort, and would like to see more unity between wizard-kind and Muggles.

History: A Muggle-born, herself, Penelope was born to Jacob and Sarah (Cohen) Clearwater on April 30th, 1976. Her parents met at Oxford while going for their respective Doctorate degrees (Jacob's in journalism and Sarah's in mathematics). Her parents divorced when she was six (their strong differences of opinions turned out to be too much for each other) and Penelope split up her time between them until the time she got her Hogwarts letter. Sarah did not like the idea of Penelope going to a magical school at all, and so it was about this time Penny moved in fully with her dad.

Jacob remarried in 1989, before Penelope's second year. His new wife, Susan, has two children Angela and Jonathan who are four and two years older than Penelope. Susan is aware that Penelope is a witch (though she wasn't told straight away) but this information has been hidden from her stepsiblings at Susan's request. Jacob's remarriage prompted Sarah to make a major change in her own life, so she moved to the United States, taking the position of a mathematics professor in a small, private university. She met her second husband, Grant Vandermaur there, and the two were married within a year. On October 15, 1992, Sarah and Grant had twins, Simon and Samantha, who Sarah desperately hopes won't be magical like Penelope.

Also in 1992, Penelope started dating Percy Weasley, and the two have been in a relationship ever since, though it's definitely been rocky at times. On May 8, 1993, she was being warned about the basilisk by Hermione Granger, when she was petrified herself, and revived May 30th. She doesn't remember much of that time.

She received stellar marks on her exams, but partially due to Muggle-born prejudice, and partially due to indecision on what she wants on her part, Penelope has yet to procure a job. She's working on that, though.

Penelope was raised Jewish, mostly her mother's influence, but after having moved in full time with her father and attending Hogwarts, she's no longer very religious.
